Chrome OS vs Windows

Note on Thursday, it seemed like the inevitable was finally coming to pass. The Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday that by 2017 the two operating systems would largely become one, Google android and chrome OS combining as one.

 Chrome OS

Chrome OS is an operating system made by Google and the OS is on laptops and Google chrome books. . People who are new to Google chrome sometimes get confused with the Chrome OS and the Chrome Web browser. Google based the look of Chrome OS, its operating system for Web-based applications, on the Chrome Web browser. But just like On the Apple front, the Cupertino Company insists that it still makes sense to have two different computer platforms. It's got the super-simple iOS for touchscreen smartphones and tablets. Then there's the more powerful OS X for desktop computing pros so Google has that same process but when you start using it for the first time. Note just remember Google chrome OS is like Internet Explorer only meant for laptops but for tablets and smartphones theirs chrome web browser that has all the things you did on the chrome OS laptop sync to your smartphone or tablet chrome web browser .Chrome was the first major Web browser to combine the search box and the address bar, a feature that most competitors have since adopted. It also allows users to sign in with their Google accounts, which enables them to sync bookmarks and open Web pages across multiple devices. In 2010, Google launched the Chrome Web Store, an online marketplace where users can buy and install Web-based applications to run inside the browser. These apps are available as either browser extensions or links to websites. When you have Chrome OS on your laptop you can take use of this.

And when you do anything on your Chrome OS computer you can do on any other device that support Google chrome or the chrome browser. Google chrome OS have apps like Gmail, Google plus, and Google doc yes Chrome books, have their own apps from Google Which is probably why Android has a bustling app store, filled with movies, games, and all manner of tools, while the Chrome Web Store is something of a wonderland., All these you can access from the Google chrome browser itself.  As of march 2014 about 43 percent of the world use Google chrome browsers making it the most widely used web browser in the world. Customize and personalize your browser by installing web apps, themes and extensions. Sign in to chrome and take your web browser, with you on your computer, phone or tablet anywhere you go so when you use Chrome OS on your laptop in sync automatically to other devise you have because even thou smartphone does not have chrome OS it has a chrome browser so everything you do on your chrome browser on your laptop you can do on other devise long as it has chrome browser which all device can get .There's chrome for iPhone available for  iOS 6.0 or later and chrome for Android devices available on 4.0,ice cream sandwich or later.

 Windows 10

The new Microsoft OS vison is to have one OS running on all devices so that’s tablets, laptops and smartphones. The  new windows 10 has an free upgrade for existing windows 7 and 8 users The good thing  about windows 10 is windows brides the gap between pc and tablets on the other hand some features was lost during the upgrade of the OS and l see trouble later on for that.

The features of windows 10 is a fast replacement internet explorer called edge. Write directly on Web pages and easily share the notes with friends. Microsoft Edge is the all-new browser built to give you a better Web experience, one that's made for easy reading, personal search recommendations and effortless browsing. Microsoft also has the ability to steam real time games to your desktop from your Xbox one. Stream your Xbox One games to any Windows 10 PC in your home. Play new games optimized specifically for Windows 10. And easily record and share your most epic gaming moments with built-in Game DVR.

The Xbox app brings together your friends, games, and accomplishments across Xbox One and Windows 10 devices. Stay connected to the Xbox Live community, start party chats, launch into cross-device multiplayer and stream Xbox One games to any Windows 10 PC in your home. The biggest Xbox franchises are coming to Windows 10, starting with Fable Legends, so you can play them on your PC. Challenge your friends, earn achievements, and be part of the greatest gaming community in the world, with multiplayer powered by Xbox Live Team up with friends, or compete against them wherever they are, on Windows 10 PCs and Xbox One. Pick up your game wherever you are. With cloud saves, your game progress follows you across Windows 10 devices and Xbox One, so you can dive back into the action right where you left off.

Start a new campaign at home on a PC or Xbox One, and complete it on the road with a tablet. Not only do your existing games work great, but now you can play and connect with gamers across Xbox One and Windows 10 devices.1 Stream your Xbox One games to any Windows 10 PC in your home. Play new games optimized specifically for Windows 10. And easily record and share your most epic gaming moments with built-in Game DVR. From the best casual games to a new generation of PC gaming, Windows 10 is built for the games you love.

Windows 10 is so friendly and familiar — with lots of similarities to Windows 7, including the Start Menu — that you'll feel like an expert from the get go. Windows 10 was developed using feedback from millions of people, so you can feel confident that Windows 10 works the way you want it to.

Additionally, Windows 10 helps you stay current with great features and Microsoft's latest protection against viruses, phishing and malware.

But last year of 2014, Microsoft turned all of that on its head. The company started offering Windows for far cheaper to manufacturers building inexpensive laptops. (We're not sure exactly how much; the terms of those deals are secret.) In response, companies like HP started making decent Windows notebooks you could buy for as low as $200. That means that now, for just $50 more than the lowest cost Chrome book, you can get a PC running a "Windows" OS and has an hard drive but Google on the other hand refuse to put hard drives on their Google chrome book computers which is smart idea to me but anyway -- a Windows computer that'll be compatible with all your Windows applications, instead of a Chrome book that only browses the Web and uses Web apps.

Admittedly, a Chrome book can be a remarkably nice, clean, uncluttered experience compared to your average Windows PC, which often come loaded with unnecessary software. Chrome books also avoid some of the security risks that affect PCs.

But if you had to pick between two practically identical computers, one with Chrome OS and one with Windows for just $20 more, would that uncluttered experience be worth leaving your Windows apps behind? That's a real choice in

Windows computers generally have just as much battery life, too? But battery life is one thing that the Chrome team finally figured out this year with machines like the Asus Chrome book Flip, which manages up to 12 hours on a charge.

Meanwhile, with its new Windows 10 operating system, Microsoft has shown the promise of going all-in with a single software platform. Windows 10 on PCs, Windows 10 on Xbox One (soon), Windows 10 on HoloLens (once it debuts) and Windows 10 on smartphones so it would have one big OS .Their devices instead of having two like Google and apple has one for the smartphones and one for laptops.

Moving back to Chrome OS Okay, Theirs has been a significant hit in the educational market. Future source consulting reports that Chrome books made up 49 percent of all devices shipped to K-12 schools in the United States last year, handily beating out Apple's iPad. According to a Gartner analysis, educators accounted for as many as 72 percent of all Chrome book sales in 2014.

Why? It's pretty simple: Chrome books are basically the perfect laptops for schoolchildren. They're not only simple and cheap, but totally interchangeable, because all their data syncs with Google's servers. You can hand a kid any Chrome book, they can log into their account, and all their schoolwork will be right there. It doesn't matter if some other kid used that laptop previously. They're also fairly secure compared to older Windows laptops, since they automatically download updates, and there aren't any malicious apps that students can download to the system.

What is a Tablet

What's a Tablet PC?

In the Ancient Near East, clay tablets (Akkadian ṭuppu(m) 𒁾)[1] were used as a writing medium, especially for writing in cuneiform, throughout the Bronze Age and well into the Iron Age.

Cuneiform characters were imprinted on a wet clay tablet with a stylus often made of reed (reed pen). Once written upon, many tablets were dried in the sun or air, remaining fragile. Later, these unfired clay tablets could be soaked in water and recycled into new clean tablets. Other tablets, once written, were fired in kilns (or inadvertently, when buildings were burnt down by accident or during conflict) making them hard and durable. Collections of these clay documents made up the very first archives. They were at the root of first libraries. Tens of thousands of written tablets, including many fragments, have been found in the Middle East.

Following their earlier tablet-computer products such as the Pencept PenPad[27][28] and the CIC Handwriter,[29] in September 1989, GRiD Systems release the first commercially available tablet-type portable computer, the GRiDPad.[30] All three products were based on extended versions of the MS-DOS operating system

.In 1991, AT&T released their first EO Personal Communicator, this was one of the first commercially available tablets and ran the GO Corporation's PenPoint OS on AT&T's own hardware, including their own AT&T Hobbit CPU.

Today Tablet PCs are compact, ultra-portable entertainment devices that let you read email, surf the Internet, read eBooks, view photos, play games, listen to music and watch video files. Most tablets are based on a smaller operating system, which allows you to purchase and download additional applications from supported stores. Tablet PCs do not have a CD/DVD drive and will not run Microsoft Windows or its applications. Tablet PCs function as a secondary device for casual entertainment purposes, and are not meant to replace a computer. They are ideal for use around the home and on the go with Wi-Fi or 3-4G mobile broadband connections (pay as you go, contract may be required for service).

Tablets are comfortable when grasping it in one hand -- an easy task for small and large hands. Though some are slightly heavier than comparable tablets, it's not tiring to hold for long periods of time. Its design is sleek,

The Google Nexus 9 succeeds in checking the necessary boxes to be one of the best tablets of 2014 A tablets to check out.

Tablets may include physical buttons (for example: to control basic features such as speaker volume and power) and ports (for network communications and to charge the battery). They usually feature on-screen, pop-up virtual keyboards for typing. Tablets are typically larger than smart phones or personal digital assistants at 7 inches (18 cm) or larger, measured diagonally.[1][2][3][4] One can classify tablets into several categories according to the presence and physical appearance of keyboards. Slates and booklets do not have a physical keyboard and typically feature text input performed through the use of a virtual keyboard projected on a touchscreen-enabled display. Hybrids and convertibles do have physical keyboards, although these devices typically also make virtual keyboards available.

Tablets, like conventional PCs, run multiple operating systems (though dual-booting on tablets is relatively rare). These operating systems come in two classes, desktop-based and mobile-based ("phone-like") OS

Here a list of OS that a  singal tablet you buy migth come with one of these operating systems

Android is a Linux-based operating system that Google offers as open source under the Apache license. It is designed primarily for mobile devices such as smartphones and tablet computers. Android supports low-cost ARM systems

The iPad runs iOS, which was created for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Although built on the same underlying Unix implementation as MacOS, its user interface is radically different. iOS is designed for fingers and has none of the features that required a stylus on earlier tablets

In October 2012, Microsoft released Windows 8, which features significant changes to various aspects of the operating system's user interface and platform which are designed for touch-based devices such as tablets. The operating system also introduced an application store and a new style of application optimized primarily for use on tablets

Firefox OS is an open-source operating system based on Linux and the Firefox web browser, targeting low-end smartphones, tablet computers and smart TV devices

Nokia entered the tablet space in May 2005 with the Nokia 770 running Maemo, a Debian-based Linux distribution custom-made for their Internet tablet line

WeTab OS adds runtimes for Android and Adobe AIR and provides a proprietary user interface optimized for the WeTab device. On September 27, 2011 the Linux Foundation announced that MeeGo would be replaced in 2012 by Tizen.[

Blackberry OS
The OS is based on the QNX system that Research in Motion acquired in early 2010.

Tablet use by businesses has jumped in the 2010s, as business have started to use them for conferences, events and trade shows.[147] In 2012, Intel reported that their tablet program improved productivity for about 19,000 of their employees by an average of 57 minutes a day.[148] In the US and Canada, it is estimated that 60% of online consumers will own a tablet by 2017 and in Europe, 42% of online consumers will own one.[149]
As of the beginning of 2013, 29% of US online consumers own tablet computers, a significant jump from 5% in 2011.[150] As of the beginning of 2014, 44% of US online consumers own tablets.[151] Tablet use has also become increasingly common amongst children. A 2014 survey found that touch screens were the most frequently used object for play amongst American children under the age of 12. Touch screen devices were used more often in play than game consoles, board games, puzzles, play vehicles, blocks and dolls/action figures. Despite this, the majority of parents said that a touch screen device was "never" or only "sometimes" a toy.[152] As of 2014, nearly two-thirds of American 2-to 10-year-olds have access to a tablet or e-reader.[153] The large use of tablets by adults is as a personal internet-connected TV
